The Silverado utilizes four powertrains: a 2.7-liter Turbo, 5.3-liter V8, 6.2-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel. The 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder received a 4,000-pound increase in towing capability, bringing it up to 13,300 pounds. The ZR2 houses a 6.2-liter V8 engine, which produces 420 horsepower.
